> Ask for a look in words, or bring your own look file, and Montage grades every shot the same way.

## Grade your video, step by step

1. In **Ask**, describe the look: « warmer, with soft contrast », « match the outdoor shots to the indoor ones ».
1. Or add a look file (.cube) with **+** then **Add footage**, and ask: « use this look on every shot ».
1. Watch it, then ask for it stronger, softer, on some shots only, or gone.

> **Keep a look for later.** Ask « Make this a style », and the look is in your Library for every video. [Styles and components](/docs/library)

## Questions

### Is my original changed?

No. The grade is part of the video; your original stays as you filmed it.

### Can I grade only one shot?

Yes. Name it, or comment on its moment: « @0:31 too dark ».
