# Describe the video you want

> The box at the bottom of New video is where you tell Montage what to make. Here is what it holds, and how to write in it.

## What is in the box

| Part | What it does |
|---|---|
| The words | Your description. The box says **Say it like you would to an editor**. |
| **+** | **Add footage** (videos, music or pictures), or **From the Library**: a style or a component. |
| The AI model | Haiku, Sonnet or Opus. On the Free plan, Haiku only. [Choose the AI model](/docs/edit/model). |
| The shape | **Vertical** (9:16), **Square** (1:1) or **Horizontal** (16:9). On a phone it starts on **Montage chooses**: the shape of your first video. |
| The mic | **Speak** instead of typing. Click it again to stop. |
| Under the box | What the video should cost: « About 3 credits ». With Opus: « Opus may use more credits ». |

## How to write it

- **Say what the video is for.** « A 30-second ad for my bakery, for Instagram. »
- **Say what to keep and what to drop.** « Keep the part where I explain the recipe. Cut the mistakes. »
- **Say how it should look and sound.** « Big white captions, calm music, my logo at the end. »

Upload every take you might use, not only the good ones: Montage reads them all.

> **Use a style.** Pick one with **+** › **From the Library**, or press **Use this style** on a style: the box writes « Make a video in the … style. » for you. [What a style is](/docs/library/styles).

## After the first version

You do not have to get it right the first time. Once the video is made, ask for changes in **Ask** or comment on the picture. After the first version, Haiku makes the changes, unless you pick another model.

## Questions

### Does a longer description cost more?

A little: the estimate counts your words, the words spoken in your footage and your pictures. The footage counts much more than the description.

### What if I don't know what I want?

Say what you filmed and who will watch it. Montage makes a first version, and you change it from there.
