# On the web and on Mac

> Montage is the same in your browser and in the Mac app. What changes is where your footage is kept and who makes the exported file.

## Which browser

Montage works in every browser. In Safari or Firefox on a computer, it says so at the top: « Montage works best in Google Chrome. » You can keep working; in Chrome your videos export faster.

## What the app shows

At the foot of the side menu, the app says what it is doing with your videos:

- **Saving to your account**: the small file is going up, for sharing and your phone.
- **Waiting for the internet**: it goes on by itself once you are back online.
- **Saved to your account**: your videos can be shared and watched on your phone.
- **A new version of Montage**: it is ready. Restart to use it.

> Signing in with Google from the app opens your browser, then brings you back to the app.
