On the web and on Mac

Montage is the same in your browser and in the Mac app. What changes is where your footage is kept and who makes the exported file.

What changes

On the web Mac app

Which browser

Montage works in every browser. In Safari or Firefox on a computer, it says so at the top: « Montage works best in Google Chrome. » You can keep working; in Chrome your videos export faster.

What the app shows

At the foot of the side menu, the app says what it is doing with your videos:

  • Saving to your account: the small file is going up, for sharing and your phone.
  • Waiting for the internet: it goes on by itself once you are back online.
  • Saved to your account: your videos can be shared and watched on your phone.
  • A new version of Montage: it is ready. Restart to use it.

Signing in with Google from the app opens your browser, then brings you back to the app.

What the app does better · Install on Mac

Questions

Is it the same account?

Yes. You sign in with the same account, and your videos are the same in the app and on the web.

Does the app work on an Intel Mac?

Not for now: the Mac app is for Macs with Apple chips.

Can I edit on my phone?

Yes, in your phone’s browser: add footage, ask, comment and export. Montage makes the exported file for you.
