Export a video
Press Export at the top of your video, pick what you take away and, for a video, its quality: Montage makes the file at your video's full size.
What you can export
| Choice | What you get | For |
|---|---|---|
| Video | An MP4 file, sound and picture | Posting, sending, keeping |
| Sound only | A WAV file of the sound alone | A podcast, a voice-over |
| For Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve | A ZIP with the cut as a timeline, and a video of each title and effect Montage drew. Your footage is not inside: your editor asks where it is. | Finishing the edit there |
Export, step by step
- Open your video and press Export, at the top, beside Share.
- Pick Video, Sound only or For Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve.
- For a video, pick the quality: Smaller file, Standard or Best. Each one shows about how big the file will be. What each one means.
- Press Export. On the Free plan, a window first offers a plan without the mark, or Export with the mark.
- In Chrome, Edge or Brave, your browser asks where to save the video. Elsewhere, the file goes to your Downloads. The window shows how far it is.

Questions
Why does my export stay at 100 %?
When Montage makes the file, it joins its parts and checks the file before giving it to you. If it stays there, press Export again, or contact support: we are told of every failed export.
Does the export have a watermark?
On the Free plan, a video carries a small Montage mark, bottom right. Every paid plan exports without it.
Can I close the tab while it exports?
In Chrome, Edge or Brave on a computer, no: your browser makes the file, so keep the page open until it’s done. In Safari, Firefox or on a phone, yes: Montage makes it, and your video will be there when you open it again.
