What is in the ZIP

File What it is
An .xml file, named after your video The timeline: each clip of your footage and sound, where it starts and ends, on its own track when clips overlap. Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve both import it.
A clips folder A video for each thing Montage drew (titles, captions, effects), from when to when it shows, placed over your footage in the timeline.

Your footage is not in the ZIP. The timeline names each file as you brought it. Your editing app asks where your footage is and finds each file by its name, so keep their names as they were.

Step by step

  1. Open your video and press Export.
  2. Pick For Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve. The window says « Your editing app will ask where your footage is. »
  3. Press Export. The ZIP goes to your Downloads.
  4. Unzip it, and import the .xml file in Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve.
  5. When your app asks for the missing files, point it to the folder where your footage is.

Or one finished file for editing

In the Mac app, the Master for editing preset makes the whole video as one ProRes 422 HQ file, « For Final Cut, Premiere, Resolve ». Export settings and presets

Questions

My editor says some files are missing. Why?

The ZIP does not hold your footage. Point your editor to the folder where your original files are; it matches them by name.

Can I change a title in Premiere Pro?

A title, caption or effect comes as a video in the clips folder: you can move or cut it, not retype it. To change its words, ask Montage, then export again.
