Connect Claude

Add Montage to Claude (claude.ai, the Claude app for Mac and Windows) as a custom connector, then ask Claude for a video.

Before you start

  • A Montage workspace on Pro, Max or Ultra.
  • A Claude account. Custom connectors work on every Claude plan; on Free, Claude allows one.

Connect, step by step

  1. In Claude, open Settings → Connectors and press Add custom connector.
  2. Name it Montage and paste the server URL: https://app.getmontage.ai/mcp.
  3. Press Connect. Sign in to Montage if asked, then press Allow.
  4. In a new chat, ask: « List my Montage videos ».

Things to ask

  • « Make a new tall video called Launch, with the footage at this link: … »
  • « Read the comments on my video Launch and fix them all. »
  • « Export Launch in Best quality and give me the download link. »

Give Claude the Montage skill. It tells Claude the order of things in Montage, so it asks less. The Montage skill

Questions

Claude says Montage MCP is on the Pro plan and above.

Your workspace is on Free or Plus. Change plan in Montage, then ask Claude again: nothing needs reconnecting.

I pressed Cancel by mistake.

Claude was refused access. Press Connect on the connector again and choose Allow.

Can Claude use footage from my computer?

Yes, if the Montage app for Mac is open and signed in on that computer: Claude asks the app, which makes the file there and keeps your original where it is.
