Connect, step by step

  1. In your terminal, run:

claude mcp add --transport http montage https://app.getmontage.ai/mcp
  2. Open Claude Code and type /mcp, pick montage and sign in.

  3. In the browser, sign in to Montage if asked, then press Allow.

  4. Ask Claude Code: « List my Montage videos ».

The workspace must be on Pro, Max or Ultra.

Sending files from your computer

Claude Code runs on your computer, so it can send a file from there:

  1. start_upload gives an upload address (valid 4 hours) and the curl command that sends the file, up to 5 GB.
  2. Claude Code runs that command, then finish_upload.
  3. get_media until the file is ready, then add_media_to_video.

With the Montage app for Mac open and signed in, import_on_computer is better: the app makes the file with your computer’s video chip and your original never goes up.

Add the skill

Put the Montage skill in your .claude/skills folder so Claude Code knows how Montage works before it starts. The Montage skill
