B-roll

Add your extra shots, and Montage places them over your talk where they match what you say.

Add B-roll, step by step

  1. Add your shots with the rest of your footage on New video, or later in Ask with + then Add footage.
  2. Ask: « Add B-roll where it helps », or name them: « Show the kitchen shots when I talk about cooking ».
  3. Montage watches your shots and reads what you say, then places each shot over the main video at the moment it fits.
  4. Watch it, and ask for changes: « Keep my face during the intro », « Another shot at 0:30 ».

Where the shots come from

B-roll is your own footage and pictures, from your computer. Montage does not download shots from a link or from a stock library.

A shot has its own sound. Say what you want heard: « B-roll without its sound, my voice over it ».

Questions

Can I use pictures as B-roll?

Yes. Pictures are footage like the rest; ask for them to move: « Slowly zoom into each photo ».

Can I keep a shot for other videos?

Yes. Everything you add stays on the Media page, and New video lets you add footage you already have.
