Music and sound

Add your music and sounds, and Montage places them, sets how loud each one is at each moment, and keeps your voice clear.

Add music, step by step

  1. Add your music with your footage on New video, or in Ask with + then Add footage (« Videos, music or pictures »).
  2. Say what you want: « music under the whole video, quieter when I speak ».
  3. Montage listens to it like your footage: when a song has words, it knows them and when they are sung.
  4. Watch, then ask: « louder at the end », « fade out over the last 3 seconds », or comment on the moment.

What to ask

You want Ask
Music under your voice « Music at 20 %, lower when I speak »
A shot without its sound « Mute the B-roll »
A sound effect « The whoosh at each title » (add the sound file first)

Montage uses the sounds you bring. It does not make music or voices.

The sound alone

Need the sound without the picture, for a podcast? Export gives Sound only, a WAV file. Export

Questions

Can I use any song?

Use music you have the right to use.

Can I change the music after?

Yes. Add another file and ask « use this music instead ».
